Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

 

Ingredients:

2 pounds sirloin steak
1 large red pepper, diced
1 large bell pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
1 1/2 cups beef broth, divided
3 tablespoons soy sauce
tablespoons cornstarch 1
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation:

Brush top sirloin steak liberally with freshly ground black pepper and massage gently. . Cut the steak into cubes or strips, if desired. Place the steak in a 6-quart slow cooker with the diced onions and peppers.
In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, grated ginger, and garlic powder. Pour this mixture over the contents of the slow cooker.
Mix remaining 1/2 cup beef broth with cornstarch and add to slow cooker. Stir the contents thoroughly to ensure a homogeneous mixture.
Close the lid of the slow cooker, set to low heat, and continue cooking for 5 hours. As a final touch, taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.
