FRIED CABBAGE WITH SHRIMP

Ingredients

  • 5 bacon strips, chopped
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 10-12 shrimp, tails removed and deveined
  • 1 kielbasa or smoked sausage, cut into 1/2 pieces Cut
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Methods

Season the shrimp with olive oil and seafood seasoning. Set aside.
Cook the bacon and remove from the pan. Leave the fat in the pot. Add the
sausage and brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
Add the shrimp and fry until the shrimp turn pink and form a “C” shape, about 3 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
Add 1 tablespoon of butter, then add onion, bell pepper, oregano, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Cook until onions are soft, about 5-6 minutes. Add garlic and fry until fragrant.
Add 1 tablespoon of butter and apple cider vinegar. Mix well, then add the cabbage and stir well.
Simmer until cabbage is tender, about 12 minutes. Add bacon, shrimp, and sausage and stir-fry. enjoy!
