Chicken Parmesan


Chicken breast fillets

1 cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper as needed
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup tomato-based marinara sauce
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Use a meat mallet to even out the thickness of the chicken breast.
Prepare the breading station by arranging three shallow bowls. Fill the first dish with flour, the second dish with beaten eggs, and the third dish with a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Dust the chicken breasts with flour, shaking off any excess flour. Dip in beaten egg and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Place the chicken in a baking dish and top each with marinara sauce and grated mozzarella.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve chicken parmesan with marinara sauce.
