Garlic Shrimp Pasta



1 pound medium shrimp (veined and tailed)
1 pound spaghetti noodles (more or less depending on family size)
6-8 garlic cloves (minced, depending on personal preference)
1/4 cup butter
Olive oil (3 drops)
Italian spices
Freshly ground pepper
Red pepper flakes
Herbs (optional)

1 Boil pasta in water until soft; Reserve 1 cup of hot water. I always add oil, salt, and fresh herbs when cooking pasta. When ready, drain and set aside.
2 While the pasta is boiling, wash the shrimp.
3 Melt the butter over medium heat. Add shrimp.
4 Cook until slightly pink and beginning to curl. Next add the garlic.
5 Cook for 5-7 minutes and add oil. Continue stirring until the shrimp turn pink and curl.
6 Add the pasta to the pot. Add spices. Add enough of the reserved pasta water until it’s not dry but doesn’t float in the liquid. Depending on how much pasta you have, half a cup or a full cup should be enough. Start with 1/4 and increase gradually.
7 Add all ingredients to the pot until all ingredients are well mixed and hot.
