Strawberry Heaven on Earth Cake
Ingredients:
For cake:
- 1 box of white cake mix
- 1 small box of strawberry flavored instant gelatin mix
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
For cream filling:
- 1 cup cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
For the strawberry topping:
- 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Strawberry Heaven on Earth Cake
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, strawberry and gelatin mixture, vegetable oil, milk, eggs, and sour cream. Mix until well combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth out the top. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Make the cream filling by mixing the cream, sugar, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
In a separate bowl, mix the sliced strawberries and granulated sugar for the strawberry topping. Stir well and leave for a few minutes to release the juices.
Once the cake has completely cooled, spread the cream filling onto the cake base. Place the second cake layer on top.
Place the sliced strawberries and their juice on top of the cake. Slice and enjoy this heavenly strawberry heaven cake.
