Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
Ingredients:
For the meatloaf:
2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the topping:
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard
Slices of provolone cheese
For serving:
Plus sautéed onions and bell peppers
Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Prepare meatloaf. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, chopped onion, bell pepper, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined. Press mixture into prepared loaf pan.
Prepare topping: Combine ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard in a small bowl. Spread this mixture over the meatloaf.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven and drain excess fat. Place a slice of provolone cheese on top and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with sautéed onions and peppers.
