Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Ingredients

Cooking spray
1 (16 oz.) can black beans, drained and rinsed
Bell peppers 1/2 onion, cut into 5 cm cubes
1/2 onion, cut into wedges
3 garlic cloves, peeled
1 egg
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
Thai chili sauce or 1 teaspoon hot sauce
1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Directions

Step 1
Turn the outdoor grill to high heat. Lightly grease aluminum foil with cooking spray.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until a thick paste forms.
Step 3
Finely chop the bell pepper, onion, and garlic in a food processor. Mix the chopped vegetables into the bean puree.
Step 4
Combine eggs, chili sauce, cumin, and chili sauce in a small bowl. Add to bean puree and stir. Stir in the breadcrumbs until the mixture is thick and comes together.
Step 5
Divide the mixture into 4 patties and place on the prepared foil.
Step 6
Grill on the preheated grill for about 8 minutes on each side.
Step 7
Serve hot.
