Easy Croissants Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold
- 2/3 cup Cold milk
- 1 egg for egg washing
Easy Croissants Recipe
Preparation:
1. Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
2. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until it forms a coarse, crumbly mixture.
3. Add the cold milk little by little and mix until a dough forms.
4. Place the dough on a floured work surface and knead briefly until it comes together.
5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and fold it into thirds like a letter.
6. Repeat the rolling and folding process two more times.
7. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
8. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
9. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Cut into triangles.
10. Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle tightly to form a croissant.
11. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
12. Break the eggs and brush them over the croissants until golden brown.
13. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and crispy.
