Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
4 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions

Mix all ingredients together. .
Gathered all the ingredients to make butter floating cookies.
Preheat oven to 450 °F (230 °C).
Place the butter in an 8-inch square glass or ceramic baking pan. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir in the butter. Continue cooking, stirring every 20 seconds, until the butter is completely melted.
Melt the butter in a square baking dish.
Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a bowl.
Mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
Stir in the buttermilk until well mixed.
Stir in the buttermilk until well mixed.
Pour into baking dish and spread over melted butter. Cut the dough into 9 equal pieces using a spatula. Spread the
dough over the melted butter and cut into 9 equal squares.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the top begins to brown.
