Slow Cooker Beef Brisket
Ingredients:
1 brisket dry rub
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Sauce:
1/ 2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/8 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke (optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
Small amount A1 Sauce
Slow Cooker Beef Brisket
Instructions for Use
In a small bowl, combine dry rub ingredients. Rub brisket; Pour into a 3 liter container. Slow cooker. Leave in the slow cooker for at least 1 hour. If possible, place the slow cooker in the refrigerator and leave it overnight to allow the beef to absorb the seasoning you’ve rubbed on it.
Combine sauce ingredients in a large bowl. Pour half over the brisket. Set remaining sauce aside. Cover and simmer on high for 4 to 5 hours or on low for 8 hours until the meat is tender. Serve with reserved sauce.
If you cut all the meat against the grain, it will literally fall apart.
