Heaven on Earth Cake

Igredients:

  • 1-2 store-bought or homemade angel cakes
  • 1 instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling, split
  • 1 (8 oz) container of frozen whipping cream, thawed shredded
  • almonds, garnish as desired (toast, optional)

Preparation:

  • Step 1: Cut the angel cake into bite size pieces.
  • Step 2: Combine pudding mix and cold milk in a large bowl, add Greek yogurt and mix until smooth.
  • Step 3: Spread 1/2 pie cube evenly into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and top 2/3 with cherry pie filling.
  • Step 4: Place the remaining cake cubes on top and pour the custard mixture over the cake, spreading gently in an even layer.
  • Step 5: Using a rubber spatula or offset spatula, spread frozen whipped cream over custard layer, pour remaining cherry pie filling over custard and sprinkle with sliced ​​almonds.
  • Step 6: Place the casserole dish in the refrigerator for 3 more hours or overnight.
