- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 cup chopped mozzarella
- ⅓ cup grated or chopped parmesan
- 1 zucchini, chopped about
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 tablespoon salt
Ingre customer casserole:
- 1 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 8 ounces shredded cheese (I used mozzarella and provolone pizza)
Preheat oven to 400. Spray the casserole with Cooking Spray
Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix well. Prepare about 24 meatballs and place them in a casserole dish. Bake
for 30 minutes or until the meatballs are done. Gently drain the cooking liquid from the pan.Pour over
sauce and cheese. Bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Optional: I ended up putting it in the oven for 3-4 minutes to cook the cheese through. Be careful when putting it under the grill. Cheese can burn easily.
Substitutes: Any type of ground meat (beef, pork, turkey, chicken) and any type of Italian sausage (pork, chicken or turkey) can be used in these meatballs.
If you like, you can omit the chopped zucchini or spinach.
Choose a marinade with no added sugar or create your own!
